"Amongst the Cheyenne there were Warrior Societies. The Kitfox, Dog Soldiers, Elk Horn Scrapers, Bowstring and Red Shield’s. The Societies were the backbone of the tribe, the men, the warriors, the hunters, the tribe as a whole depended on the societies in many different ways. Each society had leaders, they made the decisions involving warfare, the hunts. They were called Headsman. Here some Headsmen are coming together to confer amongst each other." -George Levi
